The firm provides wide range of services including audit and assurance across various sector.

Overview
Senior Accountant is responsible to manage and oversee accounting operations of the firm. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting with proven experience in Ethiopia tax law, financial report preparation for both NGOs and Private Organizations.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or with related filed of study
Experience:
3-5 years of experience
Has experience in running Peachtree Accounting software is must
Has experience in tax filing and account closing is must

Duties and Responsibilities
Processes and posts journal entries for daily transactions in Peachtree and ensures accuracy of the General Ledger.
Ensures the reliability of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions in to Peachtree software.
Issue VAT invoices to clients
Handle bid documents and submit proposals to clients on timely
Avoids legal challenges by complying with Ethiopia tax requirements by accurately preparing and declaring all tax returns (withholding tax, value added tax, employee’s income tax withheld, and pension contribution) on monthly basis.
Reconciles company daily sales record against total of daily Z Report from all POS machines of the firms.
Reconciles company cash balance against bank accounts on a monthly basis and report to the Finance Manager.
Prepares weekly, monthly financial reports (sales, receivable, and payables) to Audit Manager
Performs financial analysis as appropriate to support risk assessment and inform decision-making.
Prepare year-end financial statements and handle profit tax settlement and obtain tax clearance
Assists annual financial year-end audits and provides necessary support for external auditors.
Secures financial information by taking daily Peachtree backups.
Focus on tax compliance, business license renewal and contract review
File and settle government taxes on monthly basis (VAT, employee income tax, pension and withholding)
Support and engage with audit team for audit assignments
Manage office administration
Skills & Competencies
Excellent in writing both Amharic and English
Experience in client relationship development
Proficiency with Advanced Excel skills
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
