JOB DESCRIPTION

Wegagen Capital Investment Bank, Ethiopia’s first private investment bank, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Advisory Officer to join the office of the Chief Investment & Advisory Officer. The Senior Advisory Officer will serve as a trusted strategic partner to high-value clients, delivering expert guidance on complex financial matters including capital raising, restructurings, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and business development. This role is critical in originating and executing high-impact transactions while strengthening client relationships and expanding Wegagen Capital’s advisory leadership in Ethiopia’s dynamic financial market.

 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key and prospective clients, deeply understanding their business objectives and providing tailored strategic financial advice.

• Deliver high-level strategic advice and lead end-to-end execution of complex transactions, including mergers & acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, restructuring, and capital structure optimization.

• Proactively identify, target, and cultivate new business opportunities; develop compelling value propositions, originate deals, and expand the firm’s advisory footprint through networking and industry engagement.

• Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, sector opportunities, and potential targets to support deal origination and inform client strategies.

• Ensure all advisory activities comply with regulatory standards and internal policies while effectively assessing and mitigating transaction risks

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in financial sector, most preferably in capital market service providers investment banking, financial advisory, or a related field.

• Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CISI, CFA, are strongly preferred.)

• Proven track record of advisory services.

Skills

• Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

• Proficiency in financial software and tools.

• Strong interpersonal, and client management skills.

• High ethical standards and integrity.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
