The Senior Architect will lead the architectural design and quality assurance functions of Gift Real Estate’s projects. The role involves conceptualizing, developing, and overseeing building designs that align with the company’s strategic vision, ensuring that all projects meet regulatory standards, quality benchmarks, and market demands. The Senior Architect will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design excellence, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Design & Development

• Lead the design of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

• Prepare and review conceptual, schematic, and detailed architectural drawings.

• Ensure designs are functional, aesthetically appealing, sustainable, and aligned with company brand standards.

• Conduct feasibility studies and site analysis to guide design decisions.

• Develop design briefs and oversee the translation of requirements into design outputs.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Establish and monitor design standards, guidelines, and best practices.

• Review and evaluate external consultants’ and contractors’ designs for compliance with Gift Real Estate’s requirements.

• Ensure all designs comply with Ethiopian building codes, zoning regulations, and international quality benchmarks.

• Conduct periodic quality checks during design and construction stages.

Project Coordination & Management

• Collaborate with structural, MEP, landscape, and interior design teams for integrated project delivery.

• Support project managers in preparing timelines, budgets, and work programs.

• Provide technical guidance and design direction to junior architects and draftsmen.

• Participate in project reviews, tender evaluations, and consultant/contractor selection.

Innovation & Capacity Building

• Introduce modern design technologies (BIM, sustainable design tools, etc.) into the department.

• Mentor and train junior architects to build departmental capacity.

• Stay updated on architectural trends, construction materials, and innovative solutions applicable to real estate development.

Job Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.

• Professional license/registration with the Association of Ethiopian Architects (AEA) or eligible for registration.

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in architectural design and project management, preferably in real estate or large-scale mixed-use projects.

• Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality, built projects.

• Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).

• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian building codes and international design standards.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
