Resilience is a fast-growing agribusiness consultancy company from the Netherlands, with offices in Cotonou (Benin), Kigali (Rwanda), Chimoio & Maputo (Mozambique), Kampala (Uganda), Yamoussoukro (Cote d'Ivoire), Bujumbura (Burundi), and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). The company supports a large number of agribusiness companies, with technical advice, market research and access to finance. In addition, the company implements development projects in irrigated agriculture, horticulture, and seed sector development. For our office in Ethiopia, we are looking for a Senior Business Consultant with a solid business advisory background, experience in brokering finance for SMEs, and strong facilitation skills to strengthen our growing team and portfolio of activities.

The Senior Business Consultant will oversee the business management and investment-readiness support to agribusinesses and SMEs across projects, ensuring high-quality delivery of project activities and creating tangible results for the companies.

Key responsibilities

• Support agribusiness companies in developing and refining business plans, financial models, investment plans and pitch decks.

• Assess investment readiness of companies and identify gaps related to governance, finance, operations, and strategy.

• Provide tailored advice to companies on growth strategies, scaling and access to finance.

• Facilitate access to finance for SMEs and agribusiness, including linking companies to potential investors, financial institutions and partners.

• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder consultations, and technical meetings with private sector actors, government representatives and development partners.

• Organize trainings and coaching of companies on business planning and management

• Undertake sector reviews and research on business opportunities.

• Contribute to project reports, technical documentation, knowledge-sharing materials, and monitoring and evaluation responsibilities.

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent quality and knowledge exchange.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in business advisory support and private sector development, preferably in Ethiopia’s agricultural sector.

• Master’s degree in one of the following fields: business administration, financial management, agricultural economics and/or related field.

• Excellent analytical and writing skills for developing business plans and financial models.

• Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to engage farmers, private companies, and institutional stakeholders. 

• Experience working in the horticulture and seed sectors is an advantage.

• Excellent communication skills in both English and Amharic is required; additional local languages (Oromiffa) are an advantage.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus.

 Position and Duty location   

• Full-time position, with an initial contract of one year (renewable based on performance and project needs).

• The immediate supervisor of the Senior Business Consultant is the General Manager of RSLNC Consultancy PLC.

• The Senior Business Consultant will be based in Addis Ababa but should be willing to travel within the country frequently.
