Job Summary:

The Senior Collateral Valuator at Shabelle Bank SC is responsible for conducting professional valuation of assets offered as collateral for financing facilities. The position supports sound financing decisions by ensuring that collateral values are accurately assessed in accordance with the bank's financing policies, valuation manuals, regulatory directives, and relevant laws.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, Building, Architectural or with related Engineering fields of study.

• Experience: 3/5 years of experience, of which 2 years as an expert in the property valuation area

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure collateral property documents are collected/presented as per the manual

• Observes, measures, takes pictures (both photograph and video as appropriate) and other data of collateral properties

• Interprets the data, estimates the value of collateral, and produces collateral estimation result reports

• Provide technical advice on discrepancies observed and justify the variation on the estimated values of properties offered as collateral

•  Shall estimate using the rule of thumb when the customer has stock of construction materials on project sites and requests valuation of the materials on site for those measurable items using the provided legal documents (like purchase invoice) against the materials, and put a remark on the estimation report stating that the material is a rough estimation.

• Check the quantity of major items of work against the presented document during the estimation of an under-construction building (rough check)

• Submit monthly and quarterly reports to the immediate supervisor

• Ensure the site witness format is signed by all parties during the visit

• Prepare valuation reports in accordance with bank guidelines and regulatory requirements
