Laesk Net Trading PLC is looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and results-driven Senior Finance Officer who will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing financial reports, monitoring accounts receivable and payable, and ensuring compliance with applicable tax and financial regulations.
The Senior Finance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely recording of the company’s financial transactions. The position will also support the Finance Manager in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, internal controls, audit preparation, and other finance-related activities.
The successful candidate is expected to have strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical and organizational skills, high attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Accounting and Financial Records
Record and maintain accurate and timely accounting transactions in accordance with applicable accounting principles and company policies.
Maintain and update the General Ledger and supporting accounting schedules.
Review invoices, receipts, payment documents, journal entries, and other financial documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
Ensure that all financial transactions are properly supported by relevant documentation.
Perform regular bank, cash, customer, supplier, and other account reconciliations.
Monitor and maintain accurate records of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and follow up on outstanding balances.
Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of accounting and financial documents.
Financial Reporting
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Prepare and maintain financial statements, including Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, and other management reports.
Prepare periodic financial analysis and provide relevant financial information to the Finance Manager and management.
Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and identify significant variances.
Support the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and cash-flow projections.
Provide financial information and analysis required for management decision-making.
Accounts Receivable and Collection Monitoring
Monitor customer accounts and outstanding receivables on a regular basis.
Prepare and maintain an updated receivables aging report.
Follow up with responsible departments regarding overdue customer balances and collections.
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Ensure that customer payments are properly recorded and allocated to the respective accounts.
Provide regular reports on outstanding receivables and collection status.
Accounts Payable and Supplier Accounts
Review supplier invoices and payment requests for accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
Maintain accurate supplier account records and reconcile supplier balances.
Monitor payment due dates and provide timely information for payment planning.
Ensure that supplier payments are properly recorded and supported by authorized documents.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between supplier statements and company records.
Tax and Statutory Compliance
Prepare and submit applicable tax declarations and financial reports within the required deadlines.
Ensure proper accounting and documentation of VAT, withholding tax, income tax, Pension and other applicable taxes.
Maintain accurate tax records and supporting documents.
Follow up on tax-related matters with the relevant government authorities when required.
Support tax audits, inspections, and other statutory requirements.
Ensure that accounting and financial activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Internal Control and Compliance
Support the implementation and maintenance of effective financial and accounting controls.
Review financial transactions to ensure compliance with approved policies, procedures, and authorization requirements.
Identify accounting and financial control weaknesses and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Assist in preventing and detecting errors, irregularities, and unauthorized transactions.
Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information.
Audit and Management Support
Prepare necessary schedules, documents, and supporting information for internal and external audits.
Coordinate with auditors and provide requested financial information in a timely manner.
Follow up on audit findings and support the implementation of agreed corrective actions.
Provide financial data and analysis requested by the Finance Manager and management.
Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager or management.
REPORTING
Prepare accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and financial reports.
Prepare regular reports on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, cash, bank balances, and other key financial accounts.
Prepare and review account reconciliation reports and ensure that identified discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
Provide regular reports on:
Customer receivables and collection status
Supplier balances and outstanding payables
Cash and bank balances
Account reconciliations and outstanding items
Tax liabilities and statutory obligations
Budget versus actual performance
Significant financial variances and their explanations
Other financial matters requiring management attention
Provide accurate financial information, analysis, and recommendations to the Finance Manager and management as required.
Ensure all financial reports are supported by accurate records and relevant documentation.
Promptly report any significant accounting error, financial discrepancy, compliance issue, or financial risk that may affect the company’s operations or financial position.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a trading, and distribution company.
Proven experience in financial reporting, account reconciliation, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and tax compliance.
Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and applicable tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
