Job Summary

The Senior Finance Officer will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making. The position requires strong experience in financial management within manufacturing or mining environments, including cost control, budgeting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily accounting and financial operations

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes for project operations

• Perform detailed financial analysis to support management decisions

• Ensure proper maintenance of financial records in compliance with company policies and IFRS standards

• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow management

• Review and approve payments, invoices, and reconciliations

• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and statutory requirements

• Coordinate internal and external audit activities

• Strengthen internal control systems and financial procedures

• Support project finance activities, particularly for site operations

• Provide financial guidance to operational and project teams

• Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s is an added advantage)

• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in the manufacturing or mining industry

• Prior experience in a mining environment is highly desirable

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost accounting

• Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems

• Practical experience in analysis related to the Profit & Losses statement and Balance Sheet.

• Practical experience with different tax submissions (VAT, WHT, Corporate Income Tax).
