The Role
The Senior HR & Admin Officer will support and coordinate the company’s human resources and administrative functions, ensuring effective employee management, compliance, recruitment, and day-to-day administrative operations.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience managing employees in a manufacturing, woodwork, furniture, or similar operational environment and be capable of handling HR and administrative responsibilities independently.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations
Manage day-to-day HR activities and maintain accurate employee records
Prepare and maintain employment contracts, personnel files, and HR documentation
Manage employee attendance, leave, overtime, and related records
Support payroll preparation and provide accurate employee information to Finance
Ensure HR policies and procedures are properly implemented
Recruitment & Onboarding
Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including job posting, screening, interviews, and selection
Support workforce planning based on operational and production requirements
Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation
Maintain an updated employee and recruitment database
Employee Relations & Discipline
Handle employee concerns, grievances, and workplace issues professionally
Support disciplinary processes in accordance with company policies and applicable labor law
Promote a positive, respectful, and productive workplace
Monitor attendance, punctuality, absenteeism, and employee conduct
Performance Management
Support the implementation and monitoring of employee KPIs and performance evaluations
Coordinate probation and performance review processes
Work with supervisors and managers to address performance gaps
Administration
Coordinate day-to-day administrative activities and office/factory support services
Support management of company facilities, supplies, security, cleaning, transport, and other administrative needs
Maintain proper administrative records and documentation
Support management in ensuring a safe, organized, and productive workplace
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure HR practices comply with Ethiopian labor laws and company policies
Prepare regular HR and administrative reports for management
Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information
Support audits, inspections, and other compliance requirements
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant HR and administrative experience
Experience in a manufacturing, furniture, woodwork, WPC, or similar operational environment is highly preferred
Good knowledge of Ethiopian labor law and HR practices
Practical experience in recruitment, employee relations, attendance management, and disciplinary procedures
Experience supporting payroll and employee records
Good understanding of performance management and KPI systems
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities
Proficiency in MS Office and HR/payroll systems is an advantage
