The company has a proven track record in delivering large-scale projects, including civil works, MEP installations, ICT systems, material supply, and finishing works across Ethiopia.

ATTA Trading Plc is currently seeking a highly competent, detail-oriented, and results-driven Senior Office Engineer for its MORE Project. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in high-rise building projects and a strong background in office engineering functions, including quantity surveying, reporting, and project coordination.

Role Overview

The Senior Office Engineer plays a critical role in supporting project execution through effective quantity management, documentation control, reporting, and coordination. The position ensures accuracy in project records, timely preparation of payments, and alignment between site progress and contractual requirements.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or with related field of study with relevant work experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in high-rise building construction

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, payment certification, and project reporting

Duties and Responsibilities

Payment Preparation & Quantity Management

  • Perform quantity surveying and prepare accurate monthly take-offs for works executed by ATTA Trading PLC

  • Prepare and submit interim payment summary sheets on a monthly basis for management review

  • Prepare and/or verify subcontractors’ quantity take-offs as instructed

  • Prepare subcontractor payment certificates based on verified quantities

  • Support the preparation and submission of Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) with complete documentation

  • Assist in project scheduling by providing data on work progress, remaining quantities, and productivity rates

  • Ensure all payment-related data is accurate, verified, and aligned with site records through close coordination with site engineers and quantity surveyors

Material Utilization and Control

  • Monitor material delivery, usage, and consumption against approved material take-offs

  • Maintain accurate material tracking records and identify discrepancies, wastage, or shortages

  • Report material-related issues promptly to the Project Engineer/Project Manager

Reporting and Progress Monitoring

  • Collect and consolidate daily progress data from site teams

  • Prepare and submit Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), including manpower, equipment, executed works, and material usage

  • Maintain detailed site diaries capturing daily activities, constraints, delays, and approvals

  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress, cost, and material utilization reports for internal and external stakeholders

  • Support the preparation of cumulative progress reports and financial summaries

Documentation and Coordination

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of project documentation, including reports, payment records, material logs, and correspondence

  • Ensure consistency and alignment between technical, financial, and progress data

  • Coordinate effectively with project engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, site teams, and consultants

Reporting Line and Working Relationships

  • The Senior Office Engineer will report primarily to the Deputy Project Manager

  • Will also report to the Project Manager as required

  • Will work closely with project engineers, site engineers, quantity surveyors, planners, and consultants

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by project management

  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, organization, and professionalism in all tasks

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and reporting requirements
