Job Purpose:-

The Senior Auditor - Project and Performance is responsible for conducting project and performance audits to provide independent assurance over the planning, implementation, governance, cost management, and outcomes of Kerchanshe Group's projects and investment initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Master's Degree (preferred) or Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or with related field of study

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years for a Master’s degree and 9 years for a Bachelor's degree with progressive experience in Internal audit, External audit, Project audit, financial control and Performance audit. 

  • Experience of auditing large capital projects in diversified business portfolios such as the Agricultural sector including farm operations and livestock development, Construction projects, Manufacturing, logistics and export trading, is desired.

  • Strong financial audit experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk-based audits of capital projects, construction works, agricultural development projects, technology investments, ERP implementation projects, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Review project planning documents, feasibility studies, project budgets, contracts, implementation plans and performance indicators. 

  • Assess whether projects are executed in accordance with approved plans, budgets, contracts technical specifications and organizational procedures.

  • Evaluate project economy, efficiency, effectiveness, and value for money.

  • Review project cost management, budget utilization, procurement processes, contractor management, and payment controls. 

  • Verify physical progress project milestones, deliverables, and reported performance against approved plans 

  • Identify project risks related to delays, cost overruns, quality issues, resource inefficiencies, and governance weaknesses 

  • Assess the adequacy of project monitoring, reporting, and risk management mechanisms Review compliance with project manuals engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. 

  • Prepare audit programs working papers audit findings and recommendations based on sufficient and reliable evidence. 

  • Communicate project audit observations and improvement recommendations to project owners and relevant management. 

  • Conduct follow-up reviews to ensure implementation of agreed corrective actions. 

  • Support special reviews, project investigations, and performance assessments as required. Provide recommendations to improve project governance, resource utilization, and achievement of strategic objectives.

  • Guide and support junior auditors in conducting project audit activities

  • Maintain professional independence, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in all audit engagements.
