Job Summary

ATTA Trading Plc is a leading construction company engaged in high-rise building construction and ICT infrastructure development. The company has successfully executed major projects across Ethiopia, including Civil Works, MEP installations, MEP material supply, ICT systems, and finishing works.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Sanitary Engineer with a strong background in high-rise building projects. The role involves leading the design, coordination, and site execution of plumbing and sanitary systems, ensuring compliance with international standards, project specifications, quality requirements, and timelines.

Job Requirement

Education

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, mechanical engineer, Water Supply & Environmental Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.

Experience

• 5–8 years of proven experience in sanitary/plumbing engineering.

• Mandatory experience in high-rise building projects.

• Strong background in both design and site supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design & Technical

• Lead the design and review of sanitary and plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, stormwater, and sewage systems).

• Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pump selection, and system optimization.

• Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications.

• Ensure designs comply with international codes (IPC, BS, or equivalent) and local regulations.

Project Execution & Supervision

• Supervise installation works on-site and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

• Monitor daily site activities, progress, and workmanship quality.

• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.

• Coordinate with civil, electrical, HVAC, and architectural teams for integrated MEP delivery.

Testing, Commissioning & Quality Control

• Oversee testing and commissioning of water supply and drainage systems.

• Ensure proper inspection, pressure testing, and system functionality before handover.

• Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures for sanitary works.

Contract & Cost Support

• Review BOQs, material quantities, and cost estimates.

• Support contract administration by verifying completed works and certifying payments.

• Evaluate variations, claims, and technical changes related to sanitary works.

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.

• Identify project risks and propose mitigation measures.

Leadership & Compliance

• Guide and mentor junior engineers and site staff.

• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.

• Maintain proper documentation and project records.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of plumbing and sanitary system design

• Strong understanding of MEP coordination in high-rise buildings

• Familiarity with international standards (IPC, British Standards, etc.)

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM is an added advantage)

• Good knowledge of BOQ preparation and cost estimation

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Leadership skills with team supervision experience

• High integrity and commitment to quality and safety
