Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Transportation or with related field of study

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience

• Quantity Required: 1

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide staff performance reviews and resolve employee problems. 

• Ensure drivers are performing all their necessary tasks and responsibilities.

• Analyze delivery costs and recommend more cost-effective methods of transportation.

• Monitor and report driver issues such as accidents, safety concerns or licensing issues.

• Negotiate with transportation companies, handle customer complaints, and resolve delivery issues, including damaged, late, or lost goods

• Oversee and track delivery schedules to ensure goods are delivered on time and delivery deadlines are met

• Maintain frequent contact with management staff and employees regarding transport requirements.

• Provide checks and balances for transport management of the company.

• Assist in the development and use of budget/fiscal and inventory control programs.

• Ensure all administrative requirements are completed in a timely manner. 

• Mentor and assist employees engaged in transport and driving. 

• Conduct weekly / monthly safety meetings.

• Responsible for overseeing all transport matters related to imports and exports including truck allocations

• Update and provide tracking information to customers as well as to internal managers.

• Ensure the high level of customer service is emphasized at all levels.

• Carry out all coordination responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

• Develop policies and procedures for transport supplier selection as needed.

• Review staff requirements and participate in recruiting activities, training and scheduling of personnel.
