The opportunity
The Shelter Data Clerk supports the Shelter/NFI team in collecting, organizing, verifying, and managing data related to shelter and non-food item (NFI) assistance for refugees and displaced populations. under the overall guidance of the Shelter/NFI Officer and direct supervision of the Information Management Officer, the role ensures accurate, timely, and organized data entry, reporting, and documentation to support effective humanitarian response. the position also contributes to maintaining beneficiary accountability, coordination, and monitoring compliance with UNHCR policies, procedures, and humanitarian standards, supporting operational planning, monitoring, and reporting to affected populations.

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Program Participant and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
Job Requirements
The Individual.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in data entry, information management, or monitoring.
Experience in humanitarian or refugee operations is preferred, particularly in shelter/NFI programming.
Familiarity with UNHCR operational policies, procedures, and standards is highly desirable.
Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation).
Experience with Kobo Toolbox, ODK, or UNHCR data collection tools (ProGres v4/5).
