Over the past years, our company has executed Civil Works, MEP installation Works, MEP materials supply and Finishing Works for some of the largest projects in Ethiopia.

Currently, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer who can develop innovative software solutions, support internal teams, and contribute to the company’s technological growth.

Job Overview

As a Software Engineer at ATTA Trading Plc, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, subscribing and maintaining software applications that automate and support both internal business functions and project deliverables. You will also play an important role in training and coaching team members on how to use software tools effectively and efficiently.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and team members to deliver robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1.     Software Development & Implementation

• Analyze business needs and technical requirements to design software solutions.

• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and scalable code using appropriate programming languages.

• Develop software for internal use (e.g., tools, dashboards, automation systems) that enhance operational workflows.

• Build and deploy software required for specific project deliverables and customer needs.

2.     Testing, Documentation & Quality Assurance

• Test software components to ensure functionality and performance standards are met.

• Create comprehensive documentation including technical specifications, user guides, and maintenance instructions.

• Debug and troubleshoot software issues as they arise.

3.     Training & Support

• Provide hands-on coaching and training to staff on how to use internal software systems effectively.

• Assist staff and teams with technical support, explaining software features and best practices.

4.     Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with internal teams to gather feedback and iterate on software improvements.

• Stay informed about industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements to existing systems.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must have the following qualifications:

Educational & Professional

✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related field.

✔️ Proven 3 years experience in software development, including designing, coding, testing, and deploying software applications.

Technical Skills

✔️ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, and similar.

✔️ Ability to work with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

✔️ Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.

Soft Skills

✔️ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

✔️ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

✔️ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
