About the Job
Executing the stock management activities (receipt, storage, and issuance to projects or other departments of medical supplies, food items, spare parts, tools, equipment and/ or other logistics materials), according to the line manager’s instructions and MSF standards and protocols, in order to ensure the overall functioning of MSF activities,
Supervising materials and goods orders and dispatch in order to ensure its rational use.
Receiving orders and deliveries, identifying and reporting potential discrepancies against cargo manifest or others. Stores materials in accordance with the system in force in order to ensure continuous availability.
Updating and/or creating stock cards for all stock items immediately after reception of goods. Checking the received cold boxes and controlling the cold chain-monitoring card
Storing materials in accordance with the system in force in order to ensure continuous availability ensuring that all items are well organised and correctly stored, well protected, fully identified and easily accessible (cleanliness, security, access, etc.).
Monitoring the store temperature and ensuring Cold Chain items are stored in an adequate temperature. Keeping a special control of “sensitive” goods: numbers of lots, expiry dates, packaging and special storage conditions
Preparing orders on time before sending goods, and packs (according to transport means) weighs and labels freight with corresponding shipping number, destination, number of shipping units, way bill number, weight and mode of transport in accordance with the line manager’s instructions
In conjunction with the line manager, performing physical stock counts in accordance with the frequency previously defined. Following up stock levels with regards to alarms thresholds, stock out and expiry dates.
Controlling warehouse limited access to authorized personnel and ensuring doors and other exits are secured. Immediately informing the line manager of any problems arising in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage, loss, attempted break-ins or theft in the warehouse
Assisting the line manager with preparation of the stock reports.
1. Reception of Logistics Goods
Receive and verify logistics materials and non-medical items from suppliers, MSF bases, or partner organizations by checking quantities, quality, and compliance with delivery documents.
Inspect the physical condition of received goods and packaging upon reception.
Cross-check received items against the reception control sheet, including quantities, specifications, and item condition.
Report immediately any discrepancies, damages, or non-compliance to the Warehouse Manager before validation or signing delivery documents.
Update existing stock cards or create new ones for all received items, recording the reception document reference number.
Complete the Reception Control Form and ensure all reception documents are properly filed.
2. Issuing of Logistics Goods
Prepare and issue logistics materials based on approved stock requests and authorization from the Warehouse Manager.
Ensure correct packing and labeling of issued goods in line with MSF standards and supervisor instructions.
Apply FIFO principles and FEFO where applicable (e.g. chlorine, PPE).
Update stock cards immediately after issuing goods, including delivery document or stock request reference numbers.
Collect and archive all documentation related to issued goods with proper signatures.
3. Stock Management and Administration
Ensure stock cards are complete, accurate, and up to date, including MSF codes, item specifications, receipt and issue dates, balances, and reference documents.
Store logistics items properly to ensure cleanliness, protection, identification, security, and accessibility.
Organize items by family, specifications, and storage requirements.
Record physical stock balances after each movement and report discrepancies promptly.
Ensure all warehouse documentation is filed in accordance with MSF procedures.
4. Handling of Damaged, Obsolete, or Sensitive Items
Identify damaged, obsolete, or non-conforming logistics items and remove them from active stock as instructed.
Transfer such items to the designated quarantine or holding area when required.
Update stock cards with appropriate remarks (e.g. “damaged – removed from stock”).
Maintain updated records of damaged or obsolete items and report them regularly to the Warehouse Manager.
Flag any urgent risks related to stock condition, safety, or storage.
5. Other Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and order in all logistics storage areas at all times.
Ensure basic warehouse safety and security by restricting access to authorized personnel.
Report incidents promptly, including losses, damages, accidents, pest or rodent presence, or facility issues.
Support the supervision of daily workers assigned to warehouse activities when required.
Carry out any other logistics warehouse-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Remuneration and Benefits:
Starting Base salary (N+0) –USD 520, payable in Ethiopian Birr (ETB).

About You
Education
Literacy essential.
Desirable secondary education and warehouse management related studies.
Experience
Previous experience as storekeeper desirable
Languages
Essential local language (Amharic), desirable mission working language (english).
Knowledge
