JOB SUMMARY 

The Storekeeper will contribute to the calling of Medical Teams by implementing logistics activities at the field level and assist the Logistic Officer and Field Office the day-to-day operations of the store or warehouse, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of goods and supplies. This role involves maintaining proper inventory records, verifying deliveries, organizing stock efficiently, and ensuring that all storekeeping procedures comply with organizational policies and safety standards. 

 Essential duties and Responsibilities  

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities and Ensure the store is kept clean and organized daily. 

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery documents. 

  • Ensure proper storage of items, maintaining cleanliness, safety, and accessibility. 

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock cards and databases regularly. 

  • Issue goods as per approved requisitions and maintain proper documentation. 

  • Facilitate and conduct regular physical stock counts and report discrepancies. 

  • Monitor stock levels and notify relevant departments of low stock or expired items. 

  • Ensure security of the store and prevent loss, damage, or theft of goods. 

  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and program teams to ensure smooth operations. 

  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report those to accounting for reimbursements and record keeping. 

  • Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control. 

  • Develop and maintain a database of suppliers of goods and services 

  • Ensure accountability is integrated into country strategies, program design, monitoring and evaluations, recruitment, staff onboarding, training and performance management, partnership agreements, and highlighted in reporting.   

  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding code of conduct and behavior expectations.  

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS 

  • Diploma in Procurement & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is required 

Professional certification preferred 

EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum 1 years of procurement and logistics experience 

  • Experience with donor asset and procurement specific procedures is an added advantage  

  • Experience working with INGOs is an added advantage

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

KNOWLEDGE 

  • Knowledge of supply chain management including procurement, tendering, contracting, clearance, transport, warehousing, distribution, fleet management, and asset management 

SKILLS 

  • Fairly skilled at using ERP systems to manage inventory logistics 

  • Good interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills 

  • Skilled in communication 

  • Good computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases 

  • A good command of both written and spoken English and Amharic 

ABILITIES 

  • Ability to act with integrity and ensure security and appropriate use of assets 

  • Ability to complete complex tasks with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility 

  • Highly organized with good quantitative ability 

  • Ability to maintain detailed records with high accuracy 

  • Ability to support MTI Calling and adhere to the MTI Code of Conduct
