  1. JOB PURPOSE

The Supply & Logistics Expert will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and uninterrupted flow of pharmaceutical, laboratory, and diagnostic products from suppliers to customers. The position will coordinate procurement planning, importation, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, demand forecasting, and logistics operations while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supply Planning & Forecasting: Develop and maintain demand forecasts, supply plans, and replenishment schedules based on sales requirements, inventory levels, customer demand, and business growth plans.

  • Procurement Coordination: Coordinate local and international procurement activities, purchase orders, supplier communication, order confirmation, and timely replenishment of products.

  • Import & Shipment Management: Follow up international shipments, shipping documents, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of products.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, minimum/maximum stock levels, reorder points, slow-moving and fast-moving items, and ensure optimal inventory availability.

  • Warehouse & Distribution Coordination: Coordinate receiving, storage, stock movement, picking, dispatch, and delivery of products in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.

  • Supplier & Vendor Coordination: Maintain effective communication with international manufacturers, suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and local service providers to ensure smooth supply operations.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchase, shipment, import, inventory, and logistics documentation and support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Order Fulfillment: Coordinate customer orders with Sales, Finance, Warehouse, and Technical teams to ensure accurate and timely order processing and delivery.

  • Supply Chain Risk Management: Identify potential supply disruptions, delays, stock-outs, expiry risks, and other logistics challenges and proactively develop mitigation plans.

  • Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Prepare regular reports on inventory status, outstanding orders, shipments, procurement progress, stock availability, and supply-chain performance indicators.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Technical Service, and Management teams to align supply and logistics activities with overall business objectives.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, importation, inventory management, or distribution, preferably within pharmaceuticals, medical diagnostics, laboratory supplies, or healthcare.

  • Technical Competencies: Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory management, import and logistics processes, demand forecasting, warehouse operations, and supply planning.

  • Core Competencies: Excellent analytical and organizational skills, supplier coordination, negotiation, documentation, problem-solving, time management, and attention to detail.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of Amharic is required.

  • Digital Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP, inventory management, or supply-chain management systems is an advantage.

  • Personal Attributes: Highly organized, proactive, accountable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
