The Millennium Healthcare Enterprise (MHCE) Pharmacy Mall — Ethiopia’s first digitally integrated and enterprise-driven pharmaceutical service model — is seeking a highly competent Supply Chain Officer to support procurement, inventory, logistics, and warehouse operations in alignment with EFDA, WHO GDP standards, and MHCE enterprise policies.

This position plays a key role in ensuring availability of medicines, consumables, and supplies across multiple service units within the Pharmacy Mall.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Support the end-to-end procurement process of medicines, medical supplies, lab reagents, consumables, and equipment.

  • Prepare purchase requests, specifications, supplier comparison sheets, and procurement summaries.

  • Liaise with prequalified suppliers to obtain quotations, verify documents, and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor contract performance and follow up on timely supplier delivery.

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with MHCE guidelines and Ethiopian procurement laws.

2. Forecasting & Quantification

  • Collect monthly consumption reports and update the ERP forecasting module.

  • Participate in quantification using ABC/VED, consumption patterns, and service demand.

  • Monitor product availability and proactively alert supervisors on potential stock-out risks.

3. Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate receiving, binning, stock rotation (FEFO), and documentation.

  • Update the ERP system (stock cards, GRN entries, batch/expiry details).

  • Participate in daily cycle counts and monthly stock-taking.

  • Assist in monitoring cold-chain and controlled storage compliance.

4. Logistics & Distribution

  • Support internal distribution to Pharmacy Mall service units.

  • Assist with home delivery logistics planning, fleet coordination, and route optimization.

  • Validate delivery records and returns.

5. Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all supply chain operations comply with EFDA guidelines, MHCE SOPs, and WHO Good Distribution Practices (GDP).

  • Maintain accurate records for audit readiness.

  • Report deviations, quality incidents, and expired or damaged stock.

6. Data Management & Reporting

  • Generate weekly and monthly stock status reports.

  • Maintain supplier performance dashboards.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the ERP/POS systems

Job Requirements

Educational Background

  • BSc Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Logistics & Procurement, Public Health Supply Chain, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical supply chain, procurement, logistics, or warehouse operations.

  • Experience with ERP systems (pharmacy or health facility preferred).

  • Prior work in a pharmacy, hospital, Pharma import/distribution company, or medical supply organization is an added advantage.

Essential Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement and EFDA requirements

  • Familiarity with GDP/GS1 standards

  • Competence in quantification tools (ABC/VED, consumption analysis)

  • Basic understanding of cold chain and controlled drug handling

  • Strong MS Excel and reporting skills

  • Ability to work with ERP, POS, or digital supply chain platforms
