Job Summary
The Tax & Treasury Head will be responsible for leading the company's tax compliance, treasury operations, cash flow management, banking relationships, financial risk management, and related reporting activities while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Management
• Develop and implement tax strategies while ensuring full regulatory compliance
• Oversee preparation, filing, and reconciliation of all tax obligations
• Conduct regular tax health checks covering VAT, WHT, payroll tax, import taxes, and other applicable taxes
• Manage tax audits and relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess business impacts
Treasury Management
• Oversee cash flow management and liquidity planning
• Manage banking relationships and treasury operations
• Perform and review bank reconciliations
• Lead foreign exchange risk management initiatives
• Support working capital optimization and treasury process improvements
Risk Management & Reporting
• Identify and mitigate treasury and tax-related risks
• Prepare management reports on cash flow, tax positions, and financial exposures
• Support financial reporting, audits, and compliance activities
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within treasury and tax functions
Leadership
• Lead and develop the tax and treasury function
• Promote strong financial controls and compliance culture
• Support process automation and operational efficiency initiatives

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• MBA or MSc is an advantage
• Extensive experience in tax management, treasury operations, and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of Ethiopian tax regulations and treasury practices
• Experience managing tax audits and compliance processes
• Strong knowledge of financial risk management and cash flow management
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly advantageous
