Job Purpose

The Technical Engineering Manager is a high-level leadership position responsible for the end-to-end direction of construction projects within the real estate sector. This role requires a sophisticated blend of technical expertise, financial acumen, and strategic oversight. The primary objective of the position is to ensure that all construction phases—from inception to completion—align with strategic organizational goals while adhering to strict safety, quality, and budgetary parameters.

Key requirements include at least 14 years of industry experience, a strong foundation in civil engineering or construction management, and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships. The role is pivotal in driving project efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining financial accountability across the project lifecycle.

Job Requirements:

  • Education :Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum of 14 years in project management within the real estate construction industry. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Project Director (CPD) is highly advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Comprehensive Oversight: Direct and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring every stage from initial planning to final handover meets strategic objectives.

  • Task Coordination: Assign specific tasks to construction teams and maintain rigorous monitoring of progress to ensure schedules are met.

  • Operational Standards: Conduct regular site inspections to verify that all construction work adheres to established quality standards and safety requirements.

Technical Coordination and Procurement

  • Contractor Management: Review and approve contractor bids and proposals to ensure selection aligns with project needs.

  • Subcontractor Supervision: Hire and supervise specialized subcontractors for critical technical tasks, including plumbing and electrical work.

  • Technical Liaison: Coordinate complex project details by acting as a bridge between architects, engineers, and clients.

Strategic and Financial Oversight

  • Beyond technical execution, the role demands rigorous management of resources and risks to protect the organization’s interests.

Financial Accountability

  • Budget Development: Develop, allocate, and manage project budgets with a focus on financial accountability.

  • Cost Optimization: Proactively develop and implement strategies aimed at reducing project costs and increasing overall operational efficiency.

  • Parameter Adherence: Ensure all project activities remain within defined cost parameters to prevent overruns.

Risk and Compliance

  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks early and implement robust mitigation plans to minimize disruptions.

  • Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, industry regulations, and internal corporate policies.

  • Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce strict safety protocols throughout the construction process to maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • The Technical Engineering Manager acts as a central communication hub and a mentor for the project workforce.

Team Leadership

  • Mentorship: Lead and mentor project managers and their respective teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
