Job Summary
The Technical Manager is responsible for leading all regulatory and technical aspects of pharmaceutical importation and Local products . This role ensures that all imported and Local medicines meet EFDA standards, maintains the company’s Certificate of Competence (CoC), and oversees proper storage and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or Regulatory Affairs is an added advantage.
Licensing: Active professional pharmacist registration/license issued by the relevant Ethiopian regulatory authority (EFDA/Ministry of Health).
Experience:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant technical experience in pharmaceutical import, distribution, or regulatory affairs within Ethiopia.

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Reports To: General Manager / Managing Director
Supervises: Warehouse/Store Personnel, Quality Control/Assurance Officers, and Delivery Staff
Duties & Responsibilities
EFDA Regulatory Compliance & Product Registration:
Serve as the primary technical focal point and liaison between the company and EFDA.
Prepare and submit applications for medicine registration, import permits, pre-import approvals, and clearance certificates.
Secure and maintain the company's operational licenses and Certificate of Competence (CoC) with EFDA.
Quality Assurance & GDP/GSP Implementation:
Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Good Storage Practice (GSP).
Oversee proper warehouse storage conditions, including temperature monitoring, humidity control, and cold-chain management.
Manage inspection and documentation for incoming shipments (Certificates of Analysis, packing lists, batch records).
Pharmacovigilance & Post-Market Safety:
Establish and maintain a system for tracking product quality complaints, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and recall procedures.
Handle damaged, expired, or quarantined medicines according to EFDA waste disposal and handling protocols.
Documentation & Traceability:
Maintain comprehensive batch records, import permits, inventory logs, and distribution documentation to guarantee full traceability.
Skills & Competencies
Key Knowledge: In-depth understanding of EFDA directives, Ethiopian drug regulatory frameworks, WHO GDP/GSP guidelines, and import processes.
Legal Eligibility: Must be eligible to serve as a designated Technical Manager under current EFDA rules (cannot be concurrently registered as a Technical Manager for another entity.
