Sufi Livestock Feed Processing and Poultry Farm Enterprise is engaged in the production and supply of high-quality livestock feed to support sustainable livestock development in the Somali Regional State. The enterprise seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced Technical Manager to lead technical operations, ensure quality production, and improve efficiency and innovation in feed processing.

The Technical Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and supervising all technical aspects of livestock feed processing and poultry farms including production operations, quality control, equipment maintenance, Farm management and technical staff supervision, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Production and Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and oversee daily livestock feed production activities

• Plan, organize, and oversee daily poultry production activities

• Ensure production targets are met in line with quality standards

• Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce wastage

• Ensure proper use of raw materials and production inputs

Quality Control and Assurance

• Ensure livestock feed meets national standards and nutritional specifications

• Establish and enforce quality control procedures throughout the production cycle

• Monitor raw materials, processing methods, and finished products

• Address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions

Technical Supervision and Staff Management

• Supervise and support technical and production staff

• Provide on-the-job training and capacity building for staff

• Prepare work schedules and performance reports

• Promote workplace safety and good manufacturing practices

Equipment and Maintenance Management

• Oversee proper operation and maintenance of processing machinery

• Develop preventive maintenance plans for equipment

• Coordinate repairs and liaise with technicians and suppliers

• Ensure availability and proper use of tools and spare parts

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards

• Promote safe working practices and proper use of protective equipment

• Ensure waste management and environmental protection measures are applied

Planning, Reporting, and Coordination

• Prepare production plans, technical reports, and progress updates

• Maintain accurate technical and production records

• Coordinate with management, suppliers, and other departments

• Contribute to business planning and continuous improvement initiatives

Grant Management and Compliance

• Ensure technical activities comply with agreements, work plans, and approved budgets and approved scopes of works.

• Prepare and contribute to technical proposals, Reports, Progress updates, and deliverable required by external stakeholders. 

• Maintain proper technical documentation and records for audits and monitoring visits

• Support compliance with organizational rules and regulations, including environmental, safeguarding, and operational standards

• Coordinate with finance and management teams to ensure alignment between technical activities and grant requirements

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education, Experience and Technical Skills

• Master’s degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in livestock feed production, Agro-processing, and poultry Farm Management or related industries

• Proven experience in managing technical operations and production teams and grant Management.

• Strong knowledge of livestock nutrition and feed formulation

• Experience with feed processing machinery and production systems

• Knowledge of quality assurance and production standards

• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, reporting tools)

Language Skills

• Proficiency in Somali, Amharic and  English is required

• Other local language is an advantage
