1. Background

The Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union Ethiopia (NABU Ethiopia) is a registered national Civil Society Organization (Registration No. 1922) dedicated to ecological sustainability and socio-economic development. Since 2006, NABU has been a leader in Ethiopian conservation, working closely with NABU International (Germany).

Currently, NABU Ethiopia is implementing the project “Sustainable Garden Coffee Production and EUDR Compliance in Kaffa Zone, Southwest Ethiopia.” This initiative aims to strengthen sustainable coffee value chains and ensure compliance with European Union Deforestation Regulations (EUDR) across six woredas in the Kaffa Zone.

2. Scope of Work

NABU Ethiopia invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified suppliers for the urgent supply and delivery of the following items:

3. Technical Specifications Summary

3.1. Desktop Computers (with full accessories)

The desktop computers should be high-performance machines suitable for data processing, land administration, and office applications. Each unit must be equipped with a minimum of Intel® Core™ i7 (12th Generation or above) processor, featuring at least 12 cores (8 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores) and 20 threads, with a base frequency of approximately 2.1 GHz and turbo boost up to 4.8 GHz. The processor should have a minimum cache size of 25MB. The computers should be supplied with full accessories, including monitor, keyboard, mouse, and necessary cables. These units will be used by primary coffee cooperatives and Woreda Land Administration Offices for data management, verification, and reporting.

3.2. Desktop Computers (Dell or equivalent – alternative specification)

An alternative desktop specification may include Intel Core i5 (10th Generation, hexa-core with 6 cores), 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD storage, and processor speeds ranging from 2.9 GHz to 4.3 GHz. The system should include integrated graphics (e.g., Intel UHD Graphics 630) and operate with a 65W power supply. These units are intended for standard office and data processing functions.

3.3. LaserJet Printer (HP or equivalent)

The printer should be a high-speed laser printer with a print speed of up to 38–40 pages per minute (A4). It should support automatic duplex printing and deliver the first page within approximately 6.3 seconds. The recommended monthly print volume should range from 750 to 4,000 pages. Print quality should reach up to 1200 x 1200 dpi for fine lines. The printer must support multiple print languages, including HP PCL6, PostScript Level 3 emulation, PDF, URF, and PWG Raster. Standard connectivity features are required.

3.4. Tablet Devices

The tablets should be modern, high-performance Android devices (Android version 12 or above), with a minimum of 12 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The screen size should be approximately 12.4 inches, and each device must include a protective leather cover. These tablets will be used for second-level land certification surveying and EUDR-related coffee plot data collection, requiring reliability, accuracy, and compatibility with GIS applications.

3.5. Coffee Drying Mesh Wire

The coffee drying mesh wire should be of high-quality welded material (locally known as “ብይድ”), ensuring durability, proper ventilation, and suitability for coffee drying beds. The material must be resistant to weather conditions and capable of maintaining structural integrity over extended use. A total of approximately 2,400 meters will be supplied to support coffee cooperatives in improving post-harvest handling and coffee quality.

3.6. Plastic Cover for Coffee Drying Beds

The plastic cover should be yellow-colored and specifically designed for use as a coffee drying bed cover (locally known as “የቡና ሽፋን ፕላስቲክ”). It must be durable, UV-resistant, and suitable for protecting coffee during drying and storage processes. Approximately 1,300 kg of plastic cover material will be procured to enhance quality control and reduce contamination risks.

3.7. Jute Sacks (ኬሻ)

The sacks should be made of strong, high-quality jute material suitable for handling and transporting coffee. They must be durable, breathable, and appropriate for maintaining coffee quality during storage and transport. A total of 600 sacks will be supplied to coffee cooperatives.
