About the Role
The Tender Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end bidding process for public and private sector opportunities while ensuring full compliance with legal and submission requirements.
The role focuses on identifying relevant tenders, coordinating cross-functional inputs, and delivering high-quality, competitive proposals that support National Marketers PLC’s revenue growth and strategic positioning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tender Sourcing & Pipeline Management
Identify and evaluate relevant tender opportunities from government portals, newspapers, and international platforms
Build and maintain a strong, qualified tender pipeline aligned with business priorities
Track tender timelines, eligibility criteria, and submission deadlines
Ensure proper documentation and archiving of all tender-related information
2. Bid Preparation & Submission
Manage end-to-end preparation, compilation, and submission of tender documents (technical, financial, and administrative)
Ensure all submissions meet required formats and are delivered on time (physical and electronic)
Coordinate internal approvals prior to submission
Maintain high-quality and professionally structured bid documentation
3. Technical & Financial Proposal Development
Coordinate with Product, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to gather required inputs
Support development of competitive pricing strategies in line with company objectives
Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical specifications and commercial proposals
Verify validity of all required documents (trade license, tax clearance, bid bonds, etc.)
4. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure strict adherence to Ethiopian procurement laws and tender requirements
Eliminate risks of administrative and technical disqualification
Act as focal point for bid clarifications and communication with issuing authorities
Manage bid bonds and bank guarantees, including timely issuance and recovery
5. Post-Award Coordination & Reporting
Support handover of awarded tenders to Operations, Logistics, and Aftersales teams
Ensure clear communication of scope, timelines, and contractual obligations
Maintain tender database, including submitted bids, results, and performance tracking
Conduct basic win/loss analysis to support continuous
Job Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Law, or a related field
Experience
2–3 years of relevant experience in tender or bid management
Experience working within the Ethiopian procurement environment is preferred
