The Trade Service Section Head leads a banking team managing international trade finance products like letters of credit, guarantees, and collections. They ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance (NBE) and provide high-quality service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Manage and supervise daily trade service operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

  • Trade Finance Handling: Process, check, and approve import/export documents (LCs, guarantees, collections).

  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure all operations comply with National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) regulations and internal bank policies.

  • Foreign Exchange & Reporting: Manage foreign account reconciliation, follow up on foreign exchange revaluation, and submit regulatory reports.

  • Client Relationship: Act as a focal point for customer inquiries, handling complex transactions to improve customer experience.

  • Team Management: Coach, mentor, and evaluate staff, as well as manage disciplinary issues.

  • Strategic Input: Participate in committee meetings, develop divisional goals, and propose improvements to trade service products.

Job Requirement

  • Education: MA/BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting & Finance, Economics, Business leadership, Marketing management, or related field of studies

  • Experience: 6-7 years of relevant work experience in Banking, of which 1 year as senior officer
