The Sales and Product Follow-Up Engineer plays a dual role bridging technical support and commercial engagement. This position is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise on products, ensuring post-sale product performance, coordinating with clients for feedback, and following up on product issues or enhancements. The engineer ensures smooth product delivery, installation, and operation, while maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for upselling or improving customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilties:

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Identify and approach new potential customers in assigned sectors or territories

  • Support in achieving sales targets and market penetration goals

  • Assist in the preparation of quotations, tender documents, and proposals

  • Follow up on leads, quotations, and orders with clients

  • Conduct basic product presentations to clients and consultants

  • Gather market intelligence on competitor products, pricing, and activities

  • Maintain an updated database of customers and prospects

Technical & Follow-Up Responsibilities:

  • Track project progress and assist in coordinating technical requirements with clients

  • Ensure timely submission of product samples, technical submittals, and approvals

  • Coordinate with logistics, production, and technical teams to ensure on-time delivery

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, approvals, and sales activities

  • Support senior engineers in site visits, testing, and technical clarifications

  • Prepare weekly follow-up and status reports for the sales team and management

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • Graduation Year: 2015 or later

  • Minimum CGPA: 3.00 out of 4.00

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of experience in sales support, technical follow-up, or site coordination

  • Internship or final year project experience in the construction or engineering sector is an added advantage

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of construction chemical, construction materials, structural systems, and engineering documentation

  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Familiarity with CRM

Soft Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-up abilities

  • Customer-service oriented, with a positive and professional attitude

  • Able to multitask and work in a team environment

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of [local language, Amharic, Oromiffa]
