LeDeG Midwifery College is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as a Scientific Writing and Publication Trainer who will be responsible for designing and delivering training sessions that build the capacity of researchers, faculty members in scientific writing and publication.

Job Requirement

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in health science or with related field of study (Master’s or PhD preferred)

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years in scientific writing, editing, or academic publishing

• Prior experience as a trainer, facilitator, lecturer, or mentor

Quantity Required: 1

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver training modules on scientific writing and academic publishing   

• Guide participants on manuscript structure, style, and clarity   

• Provide instruction on journal selection, submission processes, and publication strategies     

• Train participants in referencing, citation management, and use of academic writing tools

• Explain publication ethics, plagiarism prevention, and authorship principles

• Support participants in responding to peer reviewers and revising manuscripts      

• Offer practical advice on increasing research visibility and dissemination

Skills & Competencies

•   Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills    

•   Good understanding of publication ethics and editorial standards     

• Ability to deliver practical, interactive, and results-oriented training

•    Experience in grant writing or research communication

Terms of Engagement

Type of Engagement: short term training

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Mode of Delivery: Onsite
