Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual or group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects.

• Develop and implement personalised lesson plans to address each student's academic needs.

• Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

• Encourage and motivate students to achieve their academic goals.

• Communicate with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to provide feedback on students' progress.

• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and students' progress.

• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Other Responsibilities;

• You are expected to work up to 40 hours weekly in this position (4-6 students).

• Roughly half (20hrs) will be in live tutoring sessions over zoom, and the other half will be at your convenience preparing for your sessions. The days of live tutoring will usually be weekdays and rarely weekends. Tutoring days can range from 5 days - 6 days a week. However, we always try scheduling back-to-back,

• Helping students from grades 1st - 12th prepare for exams, complete homework assignments, and keep up with students' grades.

• You will also be responsible for connecting with the student's parents weekly, connecting with teachers when necessary, and creating a tutoring schedule for the student.

• You are expected to always have your camera on with a virtual background.

• The tutor must join the zoom meeting 15 minutes before their first tutoring session that day. The tutor should have their phone volume on high as they may receive a call if they seem to be late to their tutoring session

Notice;

• It's important to note that we take attendance very seriously. Thus we expect that you show up consistently. If the tutor misses one day in a month, they will meet with their supervisor to discuss the issues and how to solve them. If a tutor misses a second day in the same month, we will have to take further actions - reassigning the tutor's student to another tutor and/or having to fire the tutor.

• Connection and light issues are expected, but we want to prevent them. If the connection is down, we ask the tutor to purchase an internet package that will be refunded to the tutor. ( 1 G = 1.5hrs = 50 Birr). We ask the tutor to always have their PC and phones fully charged in case the lights go out. 

• Your employment is an at-will status, which means the company can terminate the employment for whatever reason and at any time. 

Compensation;

• Compensation is based on the amount of students tutored. Minimum of 4 students required. Company is responsible for connecting tutors with students. Ideal candidate tutors 6 students

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Fluency in English 

• Full time night shift

•  Great internet connection and lighting

• Prior experience in tutoring

• Stable electricity 

• Communication (verbal) and software (Zoom, Google sheet) skills

• Ability to motivate and engage students of all ages and skill levels. 

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Preferences:

• A Bachelor’s degree in teaching and related fields are preferred

• Extroverted in character
