Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of nurses across all departments.
  • Assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Mentor junior nurses and support staff in clinical and professional development.

2. Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Ethiopian Ministry of Health nursing care standards and hospital protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care and implement improvements.
  • Lead infection prevention and patient safety initiatives.
  1. Administrative Duties
  • Prepare duty rosters, leave schedules, and performance reports.
  • Participate in hospital management meetings and policy development.
  • Manage nursing supplies and ensure proper use of equipment.

4. Training & Capacity Building

  • Organize in-service training and continuing education for nursing staff.
  • Support the implementation of new clinical guidelines and technologies.

5. Patient Advocacy & Communication

  • Promote patient-centered care and uphold patient rights.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSc) or higher from a recognized institution.
  • License: Valid professional license from the Ethiopian Nursing Association.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
